As a medical interest group, IBDnet works very closely with the patient organisation Crohn Colitis Switzerland (CCS). We jointly organise patients meeting, develop information material and offer support to the CCS on medical issues.

Crohn Colitis Switzerland is a self-help initiative by patients for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is a non-profit association whose activities are aimed at awakening and promoting public understanding of the concerns and problems of sufferers through its work.
Its purpose is to alleviate the lot of those suffering from Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, to provide help for self-help, and thus to help the individual to achieve a better quality of life. For in addition to the competent help of the doctor, the person affected also needs to talk to other sufferers in order to accept his or her illness and to be able to cope with the associated family and social problems. Last but not least, contact with people who are also affected prevents possible social isolation, as fears are reduced by addressing topics that are still taboo.
In cooperation with the patient organisation CCS, IBDnet has compiled various guides for those affected. Learn more about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, common treatment options and your rights and obligations vis-à-vis social insurances.
The Swiss IBD Cohort Study (SIBDCS) was launched 16 years ago. Thanks to the great cooperation of patients and doctors, key findings on the course of the disease and the therapy of IBD could be found. Many questions are still unanswered - help us to keep the SIBDCS alive.
If you are a patient with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, we encourage you to enrol in the Swiss IBD Cohort Study.
